Shirley E. Malik

Shirley E. Malik, 79, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at her home with her family by her side. She was born in Rock City Falls on November 10, 1936; she was the daughter of the late Lloyd and Frances Emigh. In her younger years, Shirley worked at Van Raalte's in Saratoga Springs, and at different sewing and lace burning businesses. Shirley loved the outdoors and her home on the Schoharie Creek. She enjoyed fishing, and working in her flower and vegetable gardens. She was predeceased by her husband, Bill Malik, the love of her life; brother, Richard Emigh; sisters, Barbara Cullen, Donna Murtlow, JoAnn Baker and Sue Morris. Shirley is survived by her brothers, Jarvis Emigh (Doris) and Dale Emigh (Karen); sisters, Gert Bowen (Jim), Sandra Wormuth and Chris Paro (Dave); great brothers-in-law, Glenn Cullen, Chuck Baker, and Roger Morris; dear sisters-in-law, Sally Malik and Shirley Melander (Bob); and many nieces and nephews. At Shirley's request services will be private. Memorial contributions in memory of Shirley may be made to the Simpson United Methodist Church in Rock City Falls or the American Heart Association.
