Sylvia Lott Obituary
Sylvia married David H. Lott of Cranesville at St. Joseph's Church on October 19, 1968. They settled in Glenville together, where they raised their loving daughter. For over 10 years, Sylvia worked for General Electric in their Finance Division. Later in life, she worked as the Financial Secretary for St. Joseph's Church in Scotia. She retired from office life to start her gardening business with David. Together, they built beautiful gardens and cared for lawns and properties around the area. This work was Sylvia's life passion, seeing people enjoy their outdoor spaces made her so happy. Her gardens at her home were her pride and joy and were featured in area garden tours.
Sylvia's infectious smile was admired and appreciated by all. She had a special love for helping others and volunteered many hours at St. Joseph's Church and Immaculate Conception Church. Her most treasured time was spent preparing for the healing masses with goodies that everyone could take back to remember the day.
Sylvia's family was the most important to her, and she will be missed by all of them. She is survived by her husband, David of Scarborough, ME, and her daughter, Rachael Gelowtski, and husband, Lawrence of Scarborough, ME. The joys of her life were her grandchildren, Lily, Ryken, and Colton Gelowtski. Sylvia also leaves behind her brother Harold Suski and his wife Alice of Waterford, NY; Nephews Shawn Suski (Melva) of Houston, TX; Aaron Suski (Kristi) of Tuscon, AZ; and niece Tamara Kirschner of Wallkill, NY.
Calling hours will be held at the Glenville Funeral Home, 9 Glenridge Rd. On Friday, February 23rd, from 5 to 7 p.m.. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church in Glenville. Burial will follow at Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery.
