William J. Majewski

William J. Majewski, 79, formerly of Schenectady, died on Monday, February 01, 2016 at The Riverside Rest Home after a long, courageous battle with Alzheimer's disease. He was surrounded by his loving family. Born in Schenectady, he was a graduate of Mont Pleasant High School. Bill worked for National Grid as a service representative for 34 years, retiring in 1994. During his tenure at National Grid, Bill was a member of The Twenty Five Year Club. He enjoyed playing golf, was an avid Yankee fan and was a former member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles. He enjoyed woodworking and target shooting. Bill faithfully served in the Air Force and in the Air National Guard. He is survived by his wife, Lucy, whom he married in 1957; two sons, David W. Majewski of Gloversville and Attorney Gregory J. Majewski, of Durham, NH and his wife, Michelle; four grandchildren, David, Melissa, Matthew and William and one great-grandchild; sister-in-law, Dorothy Cognetta; and brother-in-law, Ronald E. Breyo; one niece and several nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Dorothy Siudy; and brother, Frank Majewski. Funeral service, Saturday morning, 10 a.m. at St. Luke's Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Inurnment, Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna.
