William F. Ryan Sr.

1927 - 2021

William F. Ryan, Sr. 94, of Jonesville passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 2, 2021 at his home with his family by his side. He was born in Cohoes, NY on June 11, 1927 to William and Antoinette Ryan. He was a Navy veteran of World War II, serving on the USS Juneau. Bill was a heavy equipment operator for the Town of Clifton Park for over 30 years. He was a past member of the Jonesville Fire Department Fire Police. Bill was a great family man and he loved playing Skip-Bo, singing and listening to music. His greatest joy was the time he spent with his kids, grandkids, and great grandkids. He was predeceased by his wife Lorraine, sister Doris Moran, and brothers Thomas Ryan, John Ryan, and Edwin Ryan. Bill is survived by his children William Ryan Jr. (Melody), Peter Ryan (Donna), Katherine Dixon (Dave), Joseph Ryan (Nancy) and James Ryan (Pam); grandchildren William Ryan III (Nicole), Steven Ryan (Olivia), Crystal Niedhammer (Tyler), Amanda Ryan (Ted), Veronica Castro (Curtis), Deanna Ryan, Douglas Ryan (Ashley), Megan Ryan, Donovan Ryan (Kristen), Patrick Ryan (Jenn), and Danette Gallogly (John); sister Patricia Cassidy; and many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to calling hours on Saturday, November 6 from 9 a.m to 11 a.m. at Armer Funeral Home, Inc., 39 East High Street, Ballston Spa. A graveside service will follow at 12 noon in the Jonesville Cemetery.
