Alan J. Peterson

Alan J. Peterson a longtime resident of Wheaton Memorial visitation for Alan J. Peterson, 61, will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., Wheaton. A private funeral will be held Thursday morning. Born Oct. 5, 1945, in Edgeley, N.D., he died Saturday, Sept. 22, 2007, at Loyola University Medical Center from complications related to nasal cancer. Alan grew up in Steele, N.D. He graduated from North Dakota State University College of Pharmacy in 1970, and worked as a registered pharmacist with Walgreens for 34 years before achieving his lifelong dream of retirement in 2004. He enjoyed working in his basement shop and tinkering with home improvement projects. He had a passion for traveling the country with his wife, Myna, in their RV and relaxing at his lake home in Sandwich, Ill. He was greatly loved and will be sorely missed by both family and friends. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Myna; his sons, Bret (Jelena) and Chad (Kellie); and his sister, Edie (Ralph) Johnson. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Verna Peterson; his sisters, Elmyra and Anita; and his brother Dennis.
