ANTHONY ROSS GIARRATANO

Anthony Ross Giarratano of Des Plaines Anthony Ross Giarratano, 90, died June 20, 2011. He was born Jan. 8, 1921, in Chicago, to the late Rosario and Angela Giarratano and the late Katherine Giarratano. He was the loving husband of Cora (nee Stewart) for 64½ years; loving father of Lynda (Robert) Giarratano Catlin and the late Gregory and Douglas Giarratano; brother of the late Theresa (the late Tom) Salumone; loving brother-in-law of Marion Kinn- Hileman and the late William E. Stewart; and nephew of Rose Negrelli. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, and extended family and many dear friends. Anthony was purchasing agent and director of procurement for Minn-Honeywell for 39 years, a real estate agent for Century 21 for 26 years, coach and treasurer for the Waycinden Park Baseball League in the 1960s, fundraiser for the Boy Scouts of America and served in the Army from 1942 to 1946. Memorial visitation will be on Tuesday, July 12, from 1:30 p.m. until the time of the service at 2 p.m. at Meadows Funeral Home, 3615 Kirchoff Road (½ block east of Route 53), Rolling Meadows.
