BARBARA A. RIESE

Barbara A. Riese of Algonquin Township Barbara A. Riese, 75, a former 30-year resident of Des Plaines, died Thursday, June 23, 2011, at the Good Shepherd Hospital in Barrington. Barb was born in Chicago on April 11, 1936, the daughter of the late Edward and Cecelia LeGal. On May 28, 1960, she married Norman E. Riese. Norm preceded Barb in death on Aug. 23, 1999, after 39 years of marriage. Barb was a former employee of AB Dick Company of Niles, and the CFDA & GFE in Des Plaines. Currently, for the past eight years, she was employed at the Meijer Store in Algonquin working as a "Sample Lady." She was a member of the St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Algonquin and a former member of the Des Plaines Junior Womens Club. Survivors include her sons, Eric Riese of Algonquin and Paul (fiancee, Joy) Riese of Carpentersville. Barb is also survived by her grandson, Luke; her sister, Rita (Al) Crop of Schaumburg; several nieces and nephews; and countless good and faithful friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and her brother, Raymond LeGal. Visitation will be from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, at the Miller Funeral Home, 504 W. Main St., West Dundee.
