Bernard Rossbach Obituary
Bernard A. Rossbach, 94 years old, of Wheeling, IL. Visitation will be Monday, November 10, 2025, from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Friedrichs Funeral Home, 320 W. Central Rd., Mount Prospect, IL.
Visitation Tuesday, November 11, 2025, St. Alphonsus Church, 411 N. Wheeling Rd., Prospect Heights, IL for final visitation from 10:00 a.m. until Funeral Mass at11:00 a.m. Interment at All Saints Cemetery, Des Plaines, IL.
Bernard was the son of Henry and Myrtice Rossbach, and grew up in Chicago and was a proud graduate of Mount Carmel High School and DePaul University. He was the husband of Phyllis Rossbach; and father of John (Dawn), Anne (Gary) LeBouton, and Mary (Daryl) Emery; grandfather of Elizabeth (Joe) Bush, Michael Rossbach and Amy Emery.
He served as a Master Sergeant in the United States Army Reserve from 1949 through 1961. Bernard's career was in insurance, where he served as a claims manager and eventually became Director of Claims for several insurance companies.
Bernard loved his faith and served at St. Alphonsus Liguori Parish as Usher, Sacristician and Head Sacristician. He was awarded the Christifideles Award by Cardinal Cupich in 2021 and cherished this honor until his death on October 30, 2025.
Bernard loved his trolleys and designed and built beautiful layouts. He was a member of the Northwest Traction Group and was part of the group when it won numerous awards at multiple Milwaukee TrainFests.

Bernie will be surely missed by family, friends, his employees in claims work and, train and trolley fans and hobby enthusiasts. I worked at Standard of America in Park Ridge and learned so very much from Bernie. So many people miss him. What a great guy and gentleman.
