BERNICE B. WIGGINS

Bernice B. Wiggins, 103, of Johnsburg, IL, formerly of North Chicago, IL, passed away peacefully at Victory Lakes in Lindenhurst, IL on Sunday, March 12, 2023. She was born to Stanley and Rose Szczepaneka in North Chicago, IL. She attended Holy Rosary Grade School and graduated from Waukegan High School. On September 2, 1950, Bernice married Allen T. Wiggins at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in North Chicago. She was a parishioner of Holy Rosary and later Most Blessed Trinity, Queen of Peace Church. She retired from National Press and was a member of Fleet Reserve. Bernice's family and her religion were both extremely important to her. She loved spending time with her children, grandkids, nephews, and nieces. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her 4 children, Richard A. (Kim) Wiggins of Johnsburg, IL, Rosemarie (Richard "Steve") Jennings of Pearisburg, VA, Rachael Wiggins-Kolb of Antioch, IL, and Roxann (Manuel) Casillas of Park City, IL; 6 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and numerous nephews and nieces. She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, 1 brother, 5 sisters, and 1 son-in-law, Ronald. Visitation will be from 4pm - 8pm on Thursday, March 16, at Gurnee Salata Funeral Home, 4190 Old Grand Ave, Gurnee, IL 60031. Funeral Mass and second visitation will take place on Friday, March 17, at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 6401 Gages Lake Rd., Gurnee, IL 60031. Visitation begins at 10am, Mass begins at 11am.
