Charlene Dare Obituary

Charlene Bennett Dare of Elgin Funeral services for Charlene "Chuckie" Bennett Dare, 51, will be held at 10 a.m. today, at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Elgin, with the Rev. Joseph R. Kulak officiating. Born Dec. 23, 1950, in Chicago, the daughter of John and Grace White, she passed away Tuesday, July 23, 2002, at ManorCare Health Services in Elgin. Burial will be in Bohemian National Cemetery, Chicago. Chuckie had worked at American Legion Post #57. She was a member of the American Legion Post #57 Auxiliary, the Women of the Moose Lodge #799 and the Owls Athletic Club. Surviving are her husband, John Dare of Elgin; children, Larry (Jeaneen) Bennett of Hampshire and Kevin Bennett of Elgin; grandchildren, Abigail and Maddalena Bennett; sister Corky Leidig of Gurnee; nieces, Terry Hacker of Pleasant Prairie, Wis., and Tammy (Ron) Anderko of Antioch; special cousins, Sharon (Lucky) Angelo of Algonquin and Mary Kay McLorraine of Elgin; and many friends and other family members. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister Mary White. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services today, at the church. Kevin and Larry, we were all so sad when we read of your mom's passing. We'll remember the All Star games...always with Rice Krispie treats for good luck! She was a great lady, a great mom and she loved you both so dearly. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

chuckie, we have had our ups and downs and alot of memories thru our lives..you are the godmother of my son. i always felt like you were my sister...why didn't you let me help you..why didn't u call...i will miss you so much....heck, you were the only one i could talk to about my army life who know all i went thru...i will truly miss you my dearest friend and "sister". if your kids ever need me, they can call anytime..i will always be here for them...god, what will i do without you and our get togethers..i miss you already...
