Charles Moberly Obituary

Charles W. Moberly formerly of Naperville Funeral services for Charles W. Moberly, 73, of Lincolnwood, formerly of Naperville, will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, at the Schneider Home for Funerals, 21 W. Second St., Hinsdale. Born Nov. 12, 1928, in Trenton, Mo., he died Monday, June 10, 2002, at St. Francis Hospital in Evanston. Interment will be in Bronswood Cemetery, Oak Brook. During his career Mr. Moberly had worked for the U.S. Dept. of Agriculture and later for Swift & Company for 29 years, retiring in 1994. A veteran, he had served in the Naval Reserves from 1946 to 1954. He was a member of Knox Presbyterian Church in Naperville and the church's Hall of Famers group. Among his hobbies, he enjoyed reading, sailing, walking and playing with his children and grandchildren. Surviving are his daughter, Janet (Peter) Murphy; sons, Gary (Karen) and Tom (Marianne) Moberly; and grandchildren, Megan and Erin Murphy, and Anne, Julia, Jonathan, Caroline and Benjamin Moberly. He was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Marijeannine Moberly. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today, at the funeral home.
