CHRIS T. YEPSEN

Chris T. Yepsen formerly of South Elgin Chris T. Yepsen, 47, of Herrin,Ill., died Thursday, Jan. 19, 2012. Chris was born June 6, 1964, in Elgin,the son of Roland "Ron" and Phyllis (nee Rogalski) Yepsen, and attended St. Charles schools. He worked construction for 30 years, the past several as concrete foreman for Clifton Howell Construction. Survivors include his mother of South Elgin; sister, Rhonda (Tracy) Cartwright of Colorado; brother, Scott Yepsen of South Elgin; two daughters, Tiffany Yepsen Martinez of Colorado and Catie of Florida; two nieces, Elaine (Nikki) Yepsen and Crystal King; nephew, Coltin King; great-niece, Jayden Reierson; and several cousins. He also leaves four stepchildren, Cheryl Schaefer, Jamie Smithey, Tessa Smithey and Butch Burns, and their families, as well as many devoted friends. He was preceded in death by his father in 1972; and maternal grandmother, Irene Rogalski, in 1992. Services and burial took place on Jan. 23, in Herrin.
