CHRISTOPHER PAUL BROWN

Christopher Paul Brown, 68, died at his home in Asheville, NC, on April 3, 2023. Chris was welcomed as the first child of Laurence and Sharon Brown on January 26, 1955, in Dubuque, IA. He was a passionate artist and musician who received his first drum set when he was 10 and played in numerous bands throughout his life. Although he forged a successful career in finance, his lifelong passion as a multi-dimensional artist and creative thinker was the inspiration that propelled, consumed, and defined him. His highest calling was as a devoted father to his five children. He gave freely of himself to each of them as caregiver, mentor, friend, and catalyst for creative discovery. He explored abandoned houses, mountains, forests, music, and film with them and traveled with them to explore their interests. He considered them to be the most profound blessings of his life. Chris is survived by his children, Dorr Brown (Jenny Pesina), Rachel Starr (Noah), Ella Brown, Isela Brown, and Wynter Brown; and his grandchildren,, Tory Brown and Hazel Starr. We cannot express how profoundly grateful we are to have been parented and loved by him. He is also survived by his co-parenting partners, Dana Briscoe and Georgia Brown; his siblings, Michael Brown (Arja), Susan Brown (Alden Brigham), and Daniel Brown; and many beloved cousins, nieces and friends. All who knew him appreciated his generosity, his love of animals and nature, and his boundless creativity. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, May 20, from 1-3pm at the Rotary Building, 431 Walkup Road, Crystal Lake, Illinois.
