Hi Ruthann,
I was friend of Dan's at Marquette (just learned of his passing in the MU Magazine) and hadn't seen him in years but have nothing but great memories of his humor and friendship - qualities that guests on this site knew him for throughout the years. God's peace and comfort for you and your children.

To the entire Goodwin family: Please accept my sincere condolences on your loss. As is often the case, the passage of time places distance between childhood friends. The news of Dan's death immediately brought back fond memories of our baseball games in twin creek and the St. Anne's basketball team with Dan and Dave as our guards, Fred and Rick as our centers and Tony and I at the forward position. I still have the team picture in my scrap book. He will be missed and will remain in my thoughts and prayers. God's blessing to you all.

Dear Ruthann and Goodwin Family,
I was very saddened and shocked to hear of Dan's passing. Even after all of these years, when one hears of someone like Dan leaving us, it sends a real sting through the soul. I lit a bright shining candle at the Chapel of St. Theresa on Clarendon Street in Dublin, Ireland in his memory last night. Even though the years and miles have separated the Twin Creek gang, I remember that Dan always had a bright smile and always looked at the positive side of things. He was a great neighborhood buddy in Hazel Crest and thank God for all of the fond memories. I remember how proud he was when you became our beloved homecoming queen at Hillcrest. Twin Creek was a wonderful place to spend one's childhood, especially with the likes of Dan, Mark and Maureen. My husband and I will keep all of you in our prayers. Our sincere condolences.

Ruthann and family:
My deepest sympathy to you and your family. Like many others, I too remember Dan from our days at St. Anne's and Hillcrest. When I think about Dan and his buddies at that time (Greg, Bill, and John), a smile comes to my face...and heart. I consider myself fortunate to carry those memories of Dan.
May God bless you during these troubling times.

Ruthann,
It was shocking and terribly saddening to learn of Dan's passing when I opened my email today. You and your family will be in my thoughts for a long time. High school was a long time ago but my warm memories of the two of you are still vivid. I hope you will find some comfort in all of the projected love & caring of those of us who knew you guys. Take good care of yourself & your kids. I wish you the blessing of peace of mind.

Ruthann,
My condolences go out to you and your family. I will say that I did not know Dan very well, never-the-less you were both schoolmates of mine, and it hurts to lose anyone we know. Obviously from the posts left here, you chose a great guy for your husband and father of your children. I pray that you will be able to endure the pain of your loss and that you will triumph over this trial in your life. May GOD bless you.

Our prayers and thoughts are with you. Dan was a true friend. We shared many memories in Chicago and Atlanta. I still remember the night you guys were house hunting in Atlanta, spent the night with us and Dan and I polished off nearly a bottle of Jameson out on the deck. I am sorry I was not able to attend the service but only heard the news today from Pat V.
May God bless and comfort you and the kids.

To the Goodwin Family:
My deepest condolescenses and prayers for you in your time of loss. I remember growing up with Dan and playing many neighborhood sports and games with him as well as the other neighborhood kids always around our houses. It was a simpler time and a happy time. I had heard he grew into a fine man, husband and father. Once again I am very sorry for your loss.
