DANIEL E. WICK

Daniel E. Wick of Elgin Daniel E. Wick, 47, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2011, at his home. Dan was born in Bloomington, Ill. on Jan. 5, 1964. He moved to Chicago when he was 7 years old, then to Elgin for sixth grade and graduated from Larkin High School in 1982. He then attended Illinois State University and continued to live and work in Bloomington, returning to Elgin in the early 1990s. He then attended Northern Illinois University and Northeastern University. Dan loved photography, the movies, riding his bicycle and traveling to new places. He had a keen interest in politics and volunteered and worked in various ways to make this a better world. Survivors include his mother, Bonnie Mansfield of Streamwood; his father, Robert A. Wick of Normal, Ill.; his brother, Robert O. Wick and Rob's companion, Janet Mearida of Bloomington. Dan is also survived by his maternal grandmother, Edna McCormick of Algonquin; as well as aunts, uncles and cousins. He had several good and faithful friends, especially Al Miller, John McGrail, Monu Kang and Jessica Randell. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents; and maternal grandfather. A service celebrating his life will be held on Saturday, Jan. 7, at 4 p.m. at the Miller Funeral Home, 504 W. Main St., West Dundee, where Dan's family will be receiving friends from 2 p.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be private. Please omit flowers.
