I was at Waukegan last Sunday during the arrival of SFC Robinson's body. I was there as a vidographer for The Hoppers, an L-39 jet team that had staged at the airport for a practice day and it was an honor to fly in the No. 2 ship for the missing man formation that the team flew before departing. Thank you for your service, SFC Robinson. My thoughts are with your friends and family.

It is very rare that you get to know someone over a short amount of time but yet, they still manage to make an impact in your life. I went to St. Joseph high school with David for 2 years. And in those two years, I was very fortunate to have gotten to know him. I had a chance to experience his humor, words of wisdom and warming smile. I feel blessed that I had a chance to get to know him, even though it was for a short period of time. May GOD bless his family and friends during this difficult time and may David rest in ETERNAL peace. We now have another angel watching of us. RIP David You will be missed by many but NEVER forgotten.

Rob,
I think about all the times we taught a class together at Bliss and Sill. You were the first NCO Instructor who came back and told me thanks for teaching when you came through AIT as a private. I will always remember you for taking the time to thank me. I enjoyed having you on class with me teaching, you seemed to command respect, laughter, and yes even fear. I do not know how you did it with your baby face, it must have been something you had inside you. Rest in Peace my brother.

The Final Salute
“Brothers in Arms”, Military men and women down through the centuries, have traditionally exchanged “Hand Salutes” as a sign of recognition and as a way to render courtesy and respect one to another.
This “Hand Salute” is the last that we shall render to our Brother-in-Arms Sgt1c. David G. Robinson. To his family it symbolizes the love and respect that we have for David. And to David it is rendered as a symbol of honor and gratitude to thank him for the ultimate sacrifice he made for his country while deployed with the U.S. Army in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. No greater patriotism is shown than a man lay down his life in service to his country. David, you are a brave American Warrior and a true Patriot. With your passing, our Country has lost a National Treasure. We bid you a sad farewell. You will be dearly missed from among our ranks. Be at ease. Rest in Peace.
On behalf of the 1,307 members of Lowe-McFarlane Post 14 of the American Legion in Shreveport, Louisiana, I extend our sympathies and our condolences to David's family and loved ones.

Dear Robinson family,
For you every single soldier
Those who served so honorable
Your life was forever altered
While I'm home safe and free
I stand with grateful admiration
I stand respectful and so proud
I know I'm only a civilian
And I don't even know if it's allowed
But I salute you; allow me the honor
to salute you with permission let me say
Even though I hold no rank know that from my heart
My humble gratitude comes from the deepest part.
I salute you.
For those missing in action;
for those who didn't make it home.
I know you're in God's presence you are not alone.
For every neatly folded flag;
for every shattered family
I will do the only thing I know to dignify your memory.
I salute you, allow me the honor
to salute you with permission let me say
even though I hold no rank know that from my heart
my humble gratitude comes from the deepest part.
I salute you.
I Salute You.
