ARLINGTON HEIGHTS - DeLoris Jean Thomas was born April 29, 1932 in Forrest, IL to Alf and Clara (nee Heinold) Maurer. She died October 27, 2017 at Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights. DeLoris gave generously of her time. She was a volunteer at Northwest Community Hospital, at PADS at the United Methodist Church in Arlington Heights and at a Daycare center in Arlington Heights. DeLoris is survived by her children Joy Thomas, David Thomas, Claudia Thomas, Elizabeth (William) Myers, Gregory (Susan) Thomas, Christina (Keir) Norwell, and Daniel (Kasia) Thomas; her grandchildren, Justin, Dane, Alex, Kyle, Emma, and Abi; her great-grandchildren, Eli and Jaylee; and by her siblings Gladys (late Vergil) Koehl, Howie (Eileen) Mauer, Larry (Becky) Mauer and Wilma Honneger and by many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband John William Thomas, Jr., her granddaughter Jessica; her siblings Ray (late Rosie) Mauer, Dorothy Mauer, Helen Zimmerman, Donny Mauer and by her parents. Visitation Monday, October 30, 2017 from 4:00 until 8:00 pm, at Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road (four blocks south of Palatine Road), Arlington Heights, Illinois. Funeral Service 11:30 am, Tuesday, October 31, 2017 at Glueckert Funeral Home. Burial at Memory Gardens.
