DONALD BRUA Obituary

Donald T. Brua Donald T. Brua was born June 8, 1929, in Worth County, Iowa, and died Sunday, May 22, 2011 in Orlando, Fla. He attended school in Lake Mills, Iowa, served in the Navy in the Korean War and graduated from the University of Iowa. From college he moved to Chicago to work for the Harris Bank in the trust department, as well as Standard and Poor's Intercapital, before starting his own investment firm, Capital Supervisors, with his two partners. He retired from the firm in 1990. His great source of pleasure was coaching youth baseball. He coached several teams on which his sons played. He and his wife, Donna, have lived in Florida and northern Wisconsin for the past 20 years. He is survived by his wife; their two sons, Erik of Orlando, Fla. and Dirk (Kari) of Denver, Colo.; a sister, Leona Johnson of Osseo, Wis.; and his nieces and nephews. He will miss his family, his beloved Hawkeyes and watching the White Sox. A memorial gathering will be held in his honor on Saturday, June 4, from 2 p.m. until the time of service at 4 p.m. at the Leonard Memorial Home, 565 Duane St., Glen Ellyn. His ashes will mix in the waters of Planting Ground Lake in northern Wisconsin, where many wonderful summers were spent and at Silver Lake Cemetery in Lake Mills, Iowa, where his memories are dear. Any remembrances may be sent in his name to the University of Iowa or to the Parkinson's Foundation. For information, 630-469-0032.
