Donald Ebert Obituary

Donald C. Ebert formerly of Elgin Funeral services for Donald C. Ebert, 87, will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, at Wait Ross Allanson Funeral and Cremation Services, Elgin Chapel, 51 Center, St., Elgin. Dr. Larry Pickens will officiate. Born May 25, 1916, in Walworth County, Wis., the son of Walter and Freida Ebert, he passed away peacefully near his family Friday, Jan. 30, 2004. Burial will be in Lakewood Memorial Park, Elgin. Mr. Ebert had been living in California for the past few years with his son, Bruce, and his family. Don was part of a family of 13 siblings. He retired from Shakeproof Division of Illinois Tool Works in Elgin, after 30 years of employment. He was a veteran of World War II, where he was injured during combat. He was a great supporter of the Armed Forces and a lifetime member of the VFW Watch City Post #1307 and Disabled American Veterans. Surviving are his son, Bruce (Pamela) Ebert of Rocklin, Calif.; grandchildren, Brent (Jenny) Ebert, and Andrea and Ali Ebert, all of Rocklin; and a sister, Nona Eineke of Wisconsin. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Catherine Hickey Ebert in 1979; and 11 brothers and sisters. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today, at the funeral home.
