Dorotha R. Betke

Dorotha R. Betke, 94, passed away on Saturday, August 30, 2025, in Libertyville, IL.

She was born September 19, 1930, in North Henderson, IL, raised in Galesburg, IL and was formerly of Green Oaks for 37years and most recently, Grayslake and Libertyville. Former CPA for Joe Maller, LLC. in Libertyville for 17yrs. Dorotha was a member of United Methodist Church in Libertyville, also a member of Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), Order of the Eastern Star #3 and Order of the White Shrine of Jerusalem #49.

Dorotha and her late husband, Bill enjoyed going on many cruises and traveling to their Florida home during the winters after retirement. She had great pride competing in dog shows with her Giant Schnauzers, Champion Arlingfire's Samson in conformation and Arlingfire's Hanna winning an obedience title.

She is survived by her family by choice, Joan Groneman, Scott (Joann) Zielinski, Carla Guenther, Bridgette (John) Schneidwind and Stephanie (James) Ranieri; 12 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren; and by many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William "Bill" Betke on June 22, 2020.

A visitation will begin at 10:30 a.m., followed by a service at 11:30 p.m. Friday, September 5, 2025, at Burnett-Dane Funeral Home, 120 W. Park Ave. in Libertyville. Interment will follow at Acacia Park Cemetery.

Memorial donations would be appreciated to the Alzheimer's Association, www.alz.org.
