ERIC DIEDERICH Obituary

Eric T. Diederich of Colorado Springs, CO, was born March 11, 1986 in Park Ridge, IL to Thomas and Susan (nee Klos) Diederich. He passed away September 13, 2013 in Colorado Springs, CO. Eric was a graduate of John Hersey High School and Western Illinois University. He served with the U.S. Army 7-10 Calvary Troop during Operation Enduring Freedom. Eric is survived by his parents; his brother Robert Diederich; his grandmothers Shirley Klos and Barbara Rockwell; his uncles and aunts Dale (Bonnie) Klos, Ronald (Rosanne) Balance and by his cousins Emily, Molly and Adam Klos. Eric is preceded in death by his grandfathers Robert Klos and John Rockwell. Visitation Friday, September 20, 2013 from 4 until 9 PM at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road (four blocks south of Palatine Road), Arlington Heights. In state Saturday, September 21, 2013 from 9 AM until time of funeral service at 10 AM, at St. John United Church of Christ, 308 N. Evergreen, Arlington Heights IL. Dear Tom, Sue, and Robbie,

Words could never express the way we feel for you upon learning of the passing of Eric. It is not enough to say the traditional "we are sorry or our sympathy". You already know that because we loved Eric as if he were our own son. We feel the same about Robbie. We became friends years ago and then you all became part of our family. We will remember all the fun times we had as families out to dinner, playing UNO, and especially Monopoly! Eric was a loving son, brother, grandson, cousin, and a true patriot to our country, which he loved so much. He will be missed tremendously. We are sure you know how we felt about him and through the years he became our "surrogate" son, as did Robbie. Nothing can take away your pain, but know that we grieve with you and will keep Eric in our prayers always. He is never far from thought and we are so privileged that you let us share your son with us. He will be missed terribly. Please do not EVER forget that we love all of you and are never far away for whatever you need, even it's just to sit and listen.
