Everett Huff Obituary

Everett W. Huff of Arlington Heights The funeral service for Everett W. Huff, 75, will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, at the Congregational United Church of Christ, 1001 Kirchoff Road, Arlington Heights, where he will lie in state from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will be in St. John Cemetery, Arlington Heights. Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. today, at the Meadows Funeral Home, 3615 Kirchoff Road, Rolling Meadows. Born Nov. 3, 1931, in Chicago, he died Thursday, Sept. 6, 2007, at rush Presbyterian Medical Center in Chicago. He served in the Marine Corps and was a partner with Maine Insurance Company in Des Plaines for many years. He was a charter member of the Congregational Church in Arlington Heights. He was the husband of Joan "Ricky" (nee Fageol); father of Matthew (Robin) Peter (Vickie), Joanna (Vicente) Lopez and the late Andrew; grandfather of Jason, Samantha, Caitlin, Joseph and Abigail Huff, Conner Ball, and Emma and Molly Lopez; and brother of the late Irene Drumm, Harriete Wells and Edward Huff. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Congregational Church. For information, 847-253-0224.

Joan I was there at the library the day that Everett went to the doctor for the tests. I will never forget that day he was so strong and showing me his genealogy information that he collected. Everett will truely be missed he was such a wealth of information and told me things that helped me with my research from the classes I went that he had, to seeing him at the library had to talk to him. He will truely be missed in my heart.

Just a few of the wonderful things I remember about Mr. Huff:

* He gave me rides home from college, even though it was really out of his way, and once we once got a little lost, and he just never once got the least bit miffed. To this day, whenver I'm on I-88, I think of him.

* Mr. Huff enjoyed showing me his antiques and military collection. He didn't just show them to me, he took me for walks down the hallway, talked about the history of each one and what they meant to him. He really wanted me to appreciate the value of these things that were special to him; and, I do.

* Mr. Huff was so thoughtful and kind to me. He always made me feel like I belonged whenever I was with him and the Huff family.

I'll truly miss him, and my heart hurts for Mrs. Huff, Joanna, Pete, Matt, Robin & Vickie & Vini, and all the kids, all of whom I've grown to adore in the last 20 years.

Jeff, Matthew, my parents, Milt & Judi, and I are so terribly sorry. Sending you all our condolences, our love, and our support. Please know that we're here whenever you need us.
