Uncle Freddie was totally awesome. From the time I first met him he instantly became my hero. I still have the Chicago Bears jersey he bought me in 1976 and the autographed picture of Walter Peyton that he sent me. The times that I visited Chicago and got to hang out with Uncle Fred were very special and will be remembered forever. He could always make me smile. Nobody could tell a joke better! God Bless Freddie and the rest of the Gobers.

To the Gober family:It was an honor to know and work with Fred for many years.Even though he had a tough exterior,he was a kind man on the inside as he proved it on a daily basis.I will never forget his little family of squirrels that came to the glass and looked for him.Every time I spoke to him he always had a joke or a story about his family that he loved dearly. It was a pleasure meeting his entire family and I wish you all the best...Sincerely,Deputy Sheriff Daniel Wambaja #10997

To the Gober Family - My cousin, Shirley Halper, recognized the name and called me. This is Irma Schulock (Pocius) of the Aunt Min and Ignatz Schulock Family -- (Rose Marie, Robert, Dorothy, Mike and Joe and me). We were sadden to hear of Freddie's death. Dorothy and I recall his fun laugh, much like his Dad's, and all the fond memories of our visits to the apartment home on the North side of Chicago (Hollywood and Norwood). I am hoping to possibly make it to the wake today, but if not, my fondest condolences to all. With much love, Irma
