Fred Oswald of Mundelein The visitation for Fred Oswald, 83, formerly of Libertyville, will be from 1 p.m. until the time of funeral service at 3 p.m. Sunday, May 16, at the Kristan Funeral Home, P.C., 219 W. Maple Ave. (two blocks west of Route 45 on Route 176), Mundelein. Born March 27, 1927, in Weisbach, Germany, he passed away Monday, May 10, 2010, at home, surrounded by his family. Fred came to Chicago in 1961. He met his wife, Elfriede, and then moved his family to Libertyville in 1968. He owned and operated Fred Oswald Trucking and retired in 1995. Fred enjoyed traveling to his home in Steamboat Springs, Colo., where he would spend time fishing and enjoying the mountains. Most of all, he adored his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Elfriede; daughters, Barbara (Mitchell) Bitto and Ursula (Robert) Bowes; and his grandchildren, Ryan, Jaclyn, Madeline, Robert Jr. and Angela.
