Dear friend,
No amount of time erases the great memories of times shared on stage, in the studio, and with family and friends. The energy was positive, and always left us thirsty for more. Here's to you, and the seeds you planted for us. Godspeed my rock brother!

I think of you often, my dear friend. You visit me in my dreams, and let me know you are still very much with us. I can never thank you enough for the greatest gift of all - the connecting of a wonderful group of people (family, says it better) who remain good friends today. The importance of this legacy can not be understated. Thank you and rock on "For All Eternity..."

My Deepest sympathy to all of Gary's immediate family. Like Jim Neff, I knew "wild & crazy" Gary in the 60's and 70's when I played keyboards in Boot Hill. In my eyes, he was a true musician and a bit of a genius. I can close my eyes and hear his FISH cheer from Country Joe. May the force be with you wherever you go.

Dear Marilyn & William,
Bob & I were so sad to hear such news. He was a tremendous musical force. He was in his element when composing, playing or directing a session. There are many people that will miss him. Please know that if you need anything, please do not hesitate to call us.
Love you both.

I've had the most interesting week, pondering the days of Decadence, and the creative individuals I worked with, especially Gary, our leader.
You were in your mid 20s then, and already equipped with a repetoire of original lyrics that would put many a musician to shame.
Even if you were to pour out half the amount of passion, creativity and stage presence before and after the time that I knew you, you've lived a thousand lives, my friend.
Godspeed, Gary.
My sincere sympathy to your entire family--
Maggie

Dear Marilyn & Will, Mr. & Mrs. Jinks, Mike and Monica - For all of you his closest family, my deepest sympathy and prayers go out to you in this very difficult of times. Over the years Gary became a dear friend to me. He was larger than life and through his enthusiasm and vision he brought reality to unimaginable musical projects. He pushed us to new individual limits. He was both teacher and coach. He believed in abilities we didn't even know we had. I will miss him greatly, his voice, his encouragement, his dreams and yes the countless hours of going over a multitude of projects that only he could follow the conversation. Gary, as I mentioned before you were larger than life and we feel your void - Godspeed! Love, Angela

I am one of Will's teachers at Haines and I wish to express my profound sympathy for your loss. Will's love of music and his guitar playing had to have been influenced strongly by his stepdad, Gary. Though we never met, I believe he must have been a wonderful mentor to Will. Your family will continue to be in my thoughts and prayers.

I was saddened to come upon this obituary. I went to Luther North with Gary, we were in the Class of '70. I didn't know him well, but I just would like you to know that my prayers are with your family. May
the Lord guide you through this and comfort you in His loving arms.

My deepest sympathy to Gary's family. I lived in the same apartment building w/him for several years and he, ex-wife Monica and I became good friends. He was a true lover of music, life and what the possibilities could be. I'm sure he will be truly missed by everyone whom he touched. Godspeed Gary.
