1929 - 2022

Heinrich Knaup, 93, passed away on July 23, 2022, in Prospect Heights, IL. Heinrich was the loving husband of Margot; Loving father of Christina (William Ostrowski); beloved son of the late Heinrich and Therese Knaup; dear brother of Anna, the late Gerda (late Fritz) and the late Willi; Dear friend to many. Heinrich was born in Essen, Germany on June 2, 1929, and came to Chicago in 1958. That year he joined the Rheinischer Gesang Verien men's choir and was a member for over 60 years. Heinrich retired from the Imperial Woodworking Company in Palatine after 26 years of service. He enjoyed singing, gardening and traveling. Visitation will be held Monday, August 1, 2022, from 3pm-8pm at Oehler Funeral Home, 2099 Miner St. (corner of Northwest Hwy./Rt.14 and Rand Rd.), Des Plaines. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Alphonsus Liguori Catholic Church (Prospect Heights) Tuesday, August 2, at 10am. Burial at All Saints Catholic Cemetery to follow.
