HERBERT JOSEPH BAUMANN

1926 - 2016

Herbert Joseph Baumann, 90, passed away on November 12, 2016. Herb was born on September 25, 1926 in Chicago, IL to Berthold J. and Marie (nee Meyer) Baumann. Herb graduated from Lane Tech and began a four year apprenticeship as a metal engraver which included courses of study at the Art Institute of Chicago. Herb worked at Acro and later Comet Tool & Die until he retired in 1992. A lifelong member of the American Turners (Northwest) he enjoyed spending time with family and friends at his summer cottage in Illinois Turner Camp. Herb was an avid bowler, tennis player and card player. A devoted husband and father, Herb is survived by his wife of 64 years, Inge Marie (ne Schinke); sons Herb (Tina) of Georgetown, TX and Ed (Nancy) of Algonquin, IL; grandchildren Michael and Sierra; brother Robert; and many other dear relatives and friends. Herb was a loving and generous man and he will be greatly missed. Visitation Wednesday from 2 pm to 5 pm at the Meadows Funeral Home, 3615 Kirchoff Road, Rolling Meadows, 847-253-0224.
