James Simpson Obituary

James Michael Simpson of Naperville since 1966 A Mass of Christian Burial for Mr. James "Jim" Michael Simpson, 56, will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, at St. Raphael Church, 1215 Modaff Road, Naperville. Born Sept. 28, 1946, in Chicago, the son of James and Rita Simpson, he died Sunday, July 6, 2003, at the Alden of Waterford, Aurora. Inurnment will be in Sts. Peter & Paul Cemetery, Naperville. Mr. Simpson was a graduate of Campion Jesuit High School in Prairie Du Chien. Wis. and he received his undergraduate degree from Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wis. Mr. Simpson, practiced law for over 30 years, concentrating in labor law and trial litigation and was well-known as a gifted and articulate speaker. He was a member of the Illinois State Bar Association, the DuPage and Kane County Bar Associations, the American Bar Association and Trial Lawyers Association of America. In addition, Mr. Simpson was an avid golfer who belonged to the Cress Creek Country Club in Naperville. He also was a longtime member of St. Raphael Church, Naperville. He is survived by his sister, the Honorable Judge Mary Karen (Van A. Larson) Simpson of St. Charles; loving niece, Bridget Killeen Larson of St. Charles; and many aunts, uncles and cousins who live in Chicago, Iowa, Ireland and Scotland. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an aunt, Catherine Killeen, all were formerly of Naperville. Memorial visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, at Friedrich-Jones Funeral Home, 44 S. Mill St., Naperville. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Simpson Family, P.O.
