JANET L. MICHAELS

1929 - 2017

MOUNT PROSPECT - Janet L. Michaels (nee Lalla), 87, passed away on Wednesday, May 31, 2017. She was born on July 10, 1929 in Cicero, IL, the daughter of the late John and Marie Lalla. Janet was a graduate of the University of Illinois, where she received a Bachelor's degree in Liberal Arts. After college, she worked as an executive in personnel for several years with Kaiser Aluminum in Chicago. Janet married John L. Michaels in October, 1955, and they made their home in Mount Prospect for over 60 years. Janet was a long time member of Community Presbyterian Church and served on many church committees including the Board of Deacons and acted as Church Librarian for 30 years. Janet was the loving mother of Lisa (Ross) Carlson, and cherished grandmother of Amanda Hughes (fiance James Blakeway). She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Leona (the late Phillip) Lytton and nephew, William (Victoria) Lytton. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John Michaels in 2011, her parents, John and Marie Lalla, brothers, John and James Lalla, and sister, Marian (the late James) Kleisner. A Memorial Service for Janet L. Michaels will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 10 at Community Presbyterian Church of Mount Prospect, 407 North Main Street, Mt.
