JOHN FRISBY Obituary

John C. "Jack" Frisby passed away on Saturday, December 4, 2021 in Sierra Vista, AZ. Polar Frisby passed away December 9, 2021. Jack was born in Cook County May 20, 1931. Jack grew up in Gilberts, IL, worked at the Elgin Watch Company for over 35 years, excelling at his job and later being promoted to the tool and die division. Jack purchased a Dairy Queen in St. Charles, IL in the mid 1960's after meeting with DQ's founder Sherb Noble. Jack and his good friend Gary Niefnecker ran that DQ for many years. Jack was a successful businessman in the Fox Valley area and loved spending time with his friends, traveling and dogs. Jack loved his dog Polar who was never far from Jack's side. Jack also helped his friend Gary Niefnecker run the Tastee Freeze in Elgin for many years. Jack's Aunt Esther named it Gee & Jays. Gee for Gary, Jay for Jack. Jack worked there until he moved to Bisbee, AZ. Jack loved ice cream and enjoyed a daily helping. Jack was a lot of fun to be around. Daily drives up into the mountains surrounding Bisbee were a part of Jack's routine along with a nightly malt. Jack was a devout Catholic. He had a magnetic personality, loved to entertain, and welcomed so many friends to his home who would play card games till late in the night. He will be missed. Jack leaves behind his nephew Keith Frisby (Donna Kay), his close friend Ralph Parra, and his Godchild, Colleen McKeown. He leaves many friends and neighbors including Marlene Lambs, Kay Nottolini, Juanita Cundiff, Cindy Beaugureau, Joy O'clock, Michelle and Shiela Brown, Steven Newell and others. Jack was preceded in death by his mother Frances Tweedy, his Aunt and Uncle Esther and Harold Rule and his Aunt Marie Floto. A memorial service is being planned for May 20, 2022 at 10:00 am at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Elgin.
