I have very fond memories of Dr. Muchmore. He was my Speech teacher at Harper College back in the mid-70's. I was 18 years old and had a terrible fear of speaking in front of people. I believe we had to give 6 speeches throughout the semester, and with each speech I gave, Dr. Muchmore continued to compliment me, focusing on all the good things he saw in my speeches, rather than dwelling on the negatives. I ended up getting an A in the class and I felt like I could speak in front of anyone. Over the years I have shared this story about Dr. Muchmore with many people about overcoming my fears when it came to public speaking. I am forever grateful to him for believing in me. My condolences to his family. He was a good man.

He was also an artist! As a kid at Oak Street School in the late 50's, early 60's, he would write your name on a large easel of paper, then proceed to turn it into a caricature drawing. What fun he was for the kids! After school little music sessions with Mr. Evans...just an immensely talented guy who loved teaching and the kids.
