John Woodman Obituary

John A. "Jack" Woodman The funeral for John A. "Jack" Woodman, of Rancho Mirage, Calif., formerly of Sarasota, Fla., and Itasca, will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday, at The Oaks Funeral Home, 1201 E. Irving Park Road (at Prospect), Itasca, then proceed to St. Peter Church for a Mass at 9:30 a.m. Interment will be in Queen of Heaven Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday, at the funeral home. Born Sept. 17, 1916, in Chicago, he died Monday, July 24, 2006, in Rancho Mirage. Mr. Woodman was a 40-year resident of Itasca, the former owner of Roselle Dime Store and longtime employee of Unilever, formerly Best Foods. Jack was beloved husband of the late Ethel (nee Ballent); loving father of Jack Jr. (Janice) and the late Kathleen and James; devoted grandfather of Jennifer Ann (Eddie) Perez, and John and Andrew; great-grandfather of Ryan and Megan Duffy and Lucas Perez; fond brother-in-law of Rita and Marge Ballent.
