Joseph Sagen Obituary

Joseph "Joe" Sagen of Naperville Services for Joseph "Joe" Sagen, 86, will begin at 9 a.m. Friday, March 18, at Friedrich-Jones Funeral Home, 44 S. Mill St., Naperville, and proceed at 9:30 a.m. for Mass of Christian Burial to SS. Peter and Paul Ministry Center, 36 North Ellsworth St., Naperville. Interment will be in SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Naperville. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m., Thursday, March 17, at the funeral home. Born Nov. 8, 1918, in Downers Grove, the son of the late Joseph and Theresa Sagen, he died Tuesday, March 15, 2005, at his home. Joe was born and raised on a farm in Downers Grove, and has lived in Naperville for the past 54 years. He was employed as an upholstery foreman for Kroehler Manufacturing for 42 years and as a custodian for School District 203 for 10 years. He was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Naperville. He was an avid golfer, enjoyed gardening, cheering for the Cubs and spending time with his grandsons. He is survived by his sons, Al Sagen of Millbrook, Ill. and Greg (Mary) Sagen of Naperville; grandchildren, Joe, Danny, Matt and John Sagen; brothers, Edward (Betty) Sagen of Naperville, Don Sagen of Florida, Harold (Patsy) Sagen of Naperville and Rich (Sherry) Sagen of Naperville; sister, Barb (Dave) Letterman of Tennessee; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Sylvia G.; his parents; and three sisters. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the American Cancer Society, DuPage Area Office, 1801 S.
