DR. KENNETH G. GROSKOPF

Dr. Kenneth G. Groskopf passed away peacefully on Sunday February 21, 2021 in Elgin, IL. Ken was born on July 26, 1935 to Grover G. and Catherine (Bihlmeier) Groskopf in Blue Island, IL. He was united in marriage on December 31, 1988 to Cynthia Kollaritsch in Fontana, WI. Prior to his marriage to Cynthia, he was married to Judith (nee Bloom) Groskopf. Ken will be remembered for being a loving husband, father, grandfather, and a loyal friend. He was a business entrepreneur and professional, practicing dentistry for forty five years in St. Charles, IL. He attended Wabash College where he was a member of the Phi Kappa Psi Fraternity, the Sphinx Club, and a star on the Varsity Tennis Team. After graduating with honors from Wabash College, Ken attended the University of Illinois Dental School. He then went on to serve honorably as an officer in the U.S. Army, achieving the rank of Captain. Throughout his career, Ken was a member of many professional organizations, including the National Dental Society. He also served the community as president of the St. Charles Kiwanis Club. Most of all, Ken loved spending time in north woods of Wisconsin relaxing with his wife and family. He loved playing golf, tennis, pheasant hunting with his buddies in South Dakota, and fishing the beautiful lakes of northern Wisconsin. For those of you that knew him, Ken had a kind, witty, and infectious personality that touched many people. His memory will live in our hearts forever. Rest in peace! He is survived by his wife, Cynthia; his two children, John (Amy) Groskopf of St. Charles, IL and Julianne (Michael) Shortall of St. Charles, IL; his two grandsons, Jack Groskopf and Matthew Groskopf. He is preceded in death by his parents, Grover and Catherine Groskopf. Visitation will be held on Saturday March 6, 2021 at Moss Family Funeral Home St. Charles, 100 S. 3rd St., from 1PM - 5PM.
