LINDA CURRY Obituary

ELGIN - Linda May Curry, 76, passed away Oct. 23, 2021. She was born Nov. 11, 1944 to Robert and Esther Culver (ne Hill). Linda graduated from Elgin HS in 1962. She worked as a hairdresser, and owned two salons; the first in her home in Libertyville, IL, and the second, Classic Cuts, in Crosby, TX. She later became the activity director at St. James House in Baytown, TX; after moving back to IL, she did the same at The Vines in Elgin. Linda had a contagious laugh. She was hardworking, and loved to take care of those in need. A faithful soldier for God, she loved to spread God's word; she wanted everyone to know Jesus. She volunteered at church, Wayside Cross, and the Renz Addiction Counseling Center. She loved music and giving free haircuts, and believed in the power of prayer. Linda is survived by her daughter, Erin Lynn Curry; siblings, Judy Idstien, Katherine Keith, Robert (Jane) Culver, Sally Shoonhoven, Pete (Vicki) Culver, and Myra (Larry) Radle; grandchildren, Jacob, Joshua, and Josiah; great-grandchildren, Faith, Jeremiah, and Victoria; and nieces and nephews, Bob, Brian, Dan, Robin, Toby, Beth, Amy, Matt, Caleb, Tyler, Ben, Marla, Steve, Julie, Renee, Jody, and Mark. A memorial will be held from 10am until service at 11am, Sat., Oct. 30, 2021 at Grace Evangelical Church, 1800 Bowes Rd., Elgin. Final arrangements entrusted to Symonds-Madison Funeral Home.
