MARCUS CREWS Obituary

ELK GROVE VILLAGE - Marcus Neal Crews, age 91, passed away peacefully at home on February 19, 2023. Neal was born to Marcus and Charlie Crews in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. Neal was a successful business man who, for many years, owned his own company distributing Gulf Oil products to the greater Chicago area. He was proud to have been a member of the United States Marine Corps and served at Inchon and Kempo Air Base in Korea. He was awarded a Purple Heart and Bronze Star and received a Presidential Unit Citation and Letter of Commendation for Bravery in Action. Neal was a loving son, brother, husband, father, uncle, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Joyce, his wife of 62 years, predeceased him in 2015. He is survived by his sister, Judy Moritz; three children, Deborah (David) Hart, Kevin Crews, and Cynthia (Jeff) Groenhof; 10 grandchildren, Amanda, Jeffrey, Kevin, Mitchell, Jenna, Samuel, and Christian Groenhof, Aaron Crews, Daniel Hart, and Elaina Hart-Staller; and 10 great-grandchildren, Hazel, Wyatt, Benjamin, Jacob, Charles, Charlie Lou, Emerson, Ira, Iris, and Sylvia.
