MARGARET HOEL Obituary

Jean Hoel of Windsor Park Manor, Carol Stream Margaret Jean (nee Arthur) Hoel of Windsor Park Manor, Carol Stream, died on Saturday, August 24, 2013. She was 92 years old. Mrs. Hoel was born in Tuscola, Illinois, in 1920, the daughter of William Lewis and Mina Bagley Arthur and sister of Charles E. Arthur all of whom preceded her in death. Her husband of 54 years, W. Jay Hoel, also preceded her in death. Mrs. Hoel graduated from Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri, where she was student body president. She obtained a Bachelors degree from the University of Illinois in 1942 and was a member of Chi Omega social fraternity. She and her husband, Jay, and dear friends, Vickie and Bob Spahn, started the Park Forest Conservatory in Park Forest, IL, which grew to have more than 600 music students. Mrs. Hoel was a Real Estate broker and member of Grace United Protestant Church in Park Forest, Illinois. She is survived by daughters Jerilyn (Richard) Church of Glen Ellyn and Jill Bremer of Oak Park, four grandchildren: Richard (Susan) Church and Jeffrey (Tiffany) Church of Glen Ellyn, Catherine Church of Greenwich, Connecticut and Evan Bremer of Oak Park, as well as seven great grandchildren. Memorial service for Mrs. Hoel will be held at Windsor Park Manor 3 pm Sunday, Sept. 8. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests any donations be made in Mrs. Hoel's memory to the Windsor Park Handbell Music Fund.
