Marie Kloss Obituary

Marie Kloss

Marie Kloss, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully at the age of 93 on March 14, 2025.

She was born in Chicago, grew up in the Lakeview neighborhood and was a lifelong Cubs fan. Met the love of her life dancing at the Aragon Ballroom. Married EuGene "Bud" Kloss in 1956. Began raising a family in Niles, where her home was always open to family and friends. Together they decided to take a big step and began a new business moving their family to Libertyville in 1973. While taking care of her husband and 5 children, she always had her Westie by her side.

She delighted in watching her children grow and thrive, and celebrated their own journeys into parenthood. Guided by her strong Catholic faith, she consistently placed the needs of others before her own and was very passionate about supporting several charities that were close to her heart. Marie, with her infectious laugh and fun loving personality will be deeply missed by her family and all who were touched by her kindness.

Marie is survived by her beloved children, Tom (Katie), Tammy (Stan) Cook, Peggy (Dave) Anderson, Kim (John) Sullivan, Mike (Dorie); cherished Nanny to Michael, Christy, Tom, Joey, Mary, Kevin, Kari, Casey, Ryan, Tim, Katie, Billy, Johnny, Cassidy, Megan, Ben, and Abbey; and dearest Great-grandma of Ellie, Charley, Colette, Lilly, Nolan, Joey, Davey, Liam, Gavin, Avery, Harper, Arlo, Rosie, Timmy, Valerie, Everett, Griffin, Hallie, and Hanna.

Marie is preceded in death by her parents, Stanley and Mary Grudzien; her husband of 62 years, Eugene; her daughter, Susan; and her siblings, Mary Ellen (James) Saverino, Patricia (Spiro) Koulentis, and Daniel (Mary) Grudzien.

The Sicuro/Leipski Family

March 30, 2025

Our mother, Ann Sicuro was a friend of Marie - both grew up in the Lakeview neighborhood. Your parents were at our wedding in 2002 and won the anniversary dance for the longest married couple and I remember how great they danced together. Your Mom and I also shared a love for Westies. Please accept our deepest condolences - she was a wonderful woman.
