Mary Gielow Obituary

Mary P. Gielow of South Elgin for 11 years Funeral services for Mary P. Gielow, 78, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, at Laird Funeral Home, 310 S. State St., Elgin, with the Rev. Steve Srock officiating. Born Aug. 22, 1924, in Oak Park, she passed away Sunday, Aug. 3, 2003, at Sherman Hospital. Burial will be in Concordia Cemetery, Forest Park. Mary had been employed by Case International in Roselle for over 25 years before retiring. She is survived by her children, Kathleen (Michael) Kolodziej of Addison, Jeffrey (Laura) Gielow of South Elgin, Maureen (Douglas) Lee of St. Genevieve, Mo., Sharon Gielow of West Dundee and James Gielow of South Elgin; her grandchildren, Elizabeth (Robert) Crowley, Rebecca (Bryan) Haag, Tricia Gielow, Barbara (Caleb) Sevcik, Nathan (Megan) Lee and Nina Gielow; and great-grandmother of Hannah and Evan. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, William C. Gielow, who passed away Oct. 24, 1989; her parents, James and Anna Coneau Gearen; and by her sister, Dorothy Gordon. Visitation will be held from 3 to 9 p.m. today, at the funeral home. Friends may visit www.dailyherald.com/obits to express condolences and sign the guest book.
