Matthew Olson Obituary

Matthew Kyle Olson

Matthew Kyle Olson, 48, of Glen Ellyn passed away on Thursday, August 07, 2025. He was the son of Marion and the late Janet Olson. Brother of Karyn (Israel) Burkholder and uncle of Ryan and Nailani Burkholder. Nephew of Michael (Carol) Olson and Steve (Susan) Donath. Longtime companion and soulmate of Jennifer Karijolic. Cousin of Calley Donath, Thomas and David Olson.

Matt was a bartender and server in several well-known Glen Ellyn restaurants. Matt was a divine human being that touched so many souls. He was a bright light in this dark world. His presence alone brought happiness to all. He graduated from Glenbard West Class of 1995. He was a true Glen Ellynite. Matt was someone who worked hard, loved hard, and gave his time when needed. He had a heart of gold, and his kindness was true. Matt loved animals and his bunnies were his world, as Matt would say, "I love all things four legged and furry." Friends and family meant so much, and the love he had for Jenny was unmatchable. His laugh, his smile, and the love he emanated will never be forgotten. Matt will live on through all that knew him, he will be greatly missed. This chapter may be closed, but he is busy writing his new one...in a galaxy far, far away.
