MICHAEL J. "MIKE" MITCHELL

ELK GROVE VILLAGE - Michael J. "Mike" Mitchell), 79, passed away October 17, 2021. He was the beloved husband of Loretta "Laurie" Mitchell (Lange); loving father to his children, Cynthia and Michael with their mother, Donna Mitchell; adored grandfather of Mason, Zane and great-granddaughter Kylaa; benevolent stepfather to Michael, Donna and the late Karen Kozak and their children, McKenna, Dylan, Lindsay and great-granddaughter, Amari. Mike was the oldest of four children born to the late Joseph and Ruby Mitchell; brother to Elaine, Alan and Tracy. He was blessed with an abundant family of nephews, nieces, cousins and in-laws. All held him in the highest regard and loved him dearly. With a kind and generous nature, Mike was drawn to the environment of charitable purpose and brotherhood of fraternal orders. He was a 54-year member of the Masonic Order achieving Master Mason of the 32nd degree in Barrington Lodge #522, member of the Valley of Chicago Scottish Rite, Medinah Temple Shriner for 50 years and a Past President of the Northwest Suburban Shrine Club. A funeral mass will be held on Friday, October 29th at 10:00 a.m. at Queen of the Rosary Church, 680 W. Elk Grove Blvd., Elk Grove Village, IL.
