MICHAEL GEORGE SYKORA

1967 - 2017

PLAINFIELD - Michael G. Sykora 50, passed away on November 15, 2017 at Kindred Hospital in Northlake, IL. He was born in Cicero, IL on October 3, 1967, the son of George and Mildred (Havlicek) Sykora. The family moved to Itasca in 1972. Michael graduated from Lake Park High School in Roselle in 1985. He held jobs with various car dealers mostly in finance and management positions. Michael was married to Holly Witt (Barnlund) in 1995. They had two children, Lindsey and Michael Jr. Although they divorced in 2011 his children became his life. He was proud that Lindsey got accepted to Augustana College. He was equally proud of Michael who is still in high school and is developing into an up and coming baseball pitcher. Mike loved all the Chicago sports teams and attend games frequently especially his beloved Cubbies and their World Series win. He enjoyed golfing, traveling on family vacations and man's best friend, his dog Zack. He is preceded in death by his father George and his mother Mildred. He is survived by two sisters, Christine (Jack) Kamin and Rosemarie (Richard) Jakubowski and his children Lindsey Sykora and Michael Sykora Jr. Michael was cremated and his final resting place will be at Bohemian National Cemetery in Chicago. He wished for all who knew him to celebrate his life which is planned for Sunday, January 7, 2018 from 2-5 p.m. at Tree Guys Pizza Pub, 101 E. Irving Park Rd, Itasca, IL 60143.
