NATHAN THERIAULT Obituary

MOUNT PROSPECT - Nathan J. Theriault, 27, passed away in a motor vehicle accident on Nov. 30, 2016. He was born in Hattiesburg, MS on June 2, 1989 to his loving parents, John James Theriault and Linda Gayle Bowman. Nathan enlisted in the U.S. Army and served with the 10th Mountain Division from 2009 to 2013, serving two tours in Afghanistan. He received the following military awards for his service: Army Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, NATO Medal and Combat Infantryman Badge. Upon his return, Nathan worked as a mechanic at Bela Plumbing in Streamwood, IL. Nathan will be remembered for his incredible work ethic, extraordinary sense of humor, and love for music. He had a generous, kind heart, and loved to serve his country and others. Nathan was a strong advocate for suicide prevention, following the losses of many of his brothers in arms to suicide. Nathan was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by the love of his life, Valerie Carley; sister Danielle (George) Krueger; brother Mario Castellanos; grandmother Betty Theriault; aunts and uncles Char and John Holbrook and Todd Theriault; and many cousins and friends. The family offers deep thanks to Barbara Currer-Nee, Michael Nee and Chanelle Carley for their love and support. Visitation will be 5 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 13, with service at 7 p.m., at Symonds-Madison Funeral Home, 305 Park St., Elgin. I remember when we were younger trying to make money mowing everyone's gas and we kept our equipment in that shed that aurora used to live. Got into trouble for being on private property lol. We used to be so reckless back in the day and then we grew and served our country. I miss you brother more than anything. It kills me knowing I'll never be able to have one last conversation with you on this earth but we will damn sure cause some more chaos when we meet on the other side.....Til Valhalla my brother!!
