Mrs. Wissing (Ms. Stahl) was a magnificent Latin teacher when I was in her classes in 1960 - 1962. I was mesmerized daily by her knowledge, sophistication and classy poise. When I was a senior, she once allowed me to teach one of her Freshman classes in her absence. I am proud to share that she alone had the greatest impact upon my life of any of my teachers. She imbued me with a deep, abiding love for language such that I have enjoyed my entire professional career as a Latin, Spanish and German teacher for 34 years at Carbondale Community High School. Since my own retirement in 2005 I have become an Italian teacher to my fellow senior citizen friends. Had I only known that she was still among us so recently, I would so gladly have shared these feelings with her. She worked magic on me which provided me a life-long love affair with language teaching. Gratias tibi ago, Norma. Requiescas in pace.

"Miss Stahl" as we knew her in 1958 was a wonderful person and teacher. I didn't take Latin so she was never my teacher but her smile and demeanor always made you feel welcome.

Mrs Wissing was my favorite teacher in High School; I loved Latin and All the projects especially Ides of March dinners ! She was a lovely, confident woman whom I deeply respected and felt she was an excellent role model . I have no doubt she imparted these same messages and attitudes to countless young women through the years. Rest In Peace dear lady; God and all His angels have welcomed you with open arms ! cogito ergo sum
