Peter Samulevich Obituary

Peter R. Samulevich of Lindenhurst A funeral Mass for Peter R. Samulevich, 54, of Lindenhurst for the past nine years, formerly of Liverpool, N.Y., will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, located at the intersection of Route 83 and Route 132, Lake Villa. Born May 2, 1947, in Nurnberg, Germany, to Peter J. and Hildegard (nee Pfalzner) Samulevich, he died Saturday, April 13, 2002, at Victory Memorial Hospital in Waukegan. A private interment will follow the services. A veteran, Mr. Samulevich had served in the Army for 24 years. For the past five years he was employed as a bus driver for Lake Villa School District #41. Peter actively supported his children's soccer, volleyball and Girl Scouting activities. Among his other interests, he was a gourmet cook. Peter was a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church. Surviving are his children, Nicholas Peter and Christina Marie Samulevich, both of Fox Lake and Lindenhurst; father, Peter J. (Gene) Samulevich of Hamilton, Mont.; brother, Robert Samulevich of Oregon; sister, Heidi (Ted) James of Oklahoma; and former wife and longtime friend, Meghan E. Sullivan of Fox Lake. He is also survived by other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Hildegard Samulevich. Friends of the family may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, at K.K. Hamsher Funeral Home (the Chapel on the Lake), 12 N. Pistakee Lake Road, Fox Lake. Memorials to the American Cancer Society, 777 Central Ave., Highland Park, IL 60035; or to the Y-Me National Breast Cancer Organization, 212 W.
