Robert May Obituary

Robert M. May a lifelong resident of Wheaton Funeral services for Robert M. May, 62, will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, at the Blanchard Road Alliance Church, 1766 S. Blanchard Road, Wheaton. Interment will be in Wheaton Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:30 to 9 p.m. today, at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., Wheaton. Born July 22, 1942, in Aurora, the son of Charles and Myrtle May, he died suddenly Friday, Oct. 8, 2004, as a result of a work-related accident. Robert graduated from Wheaton Community High School in 1960. He owned and operated May Electric and Well Service of Wheaton for the past 40 years. He was an active member of Blanchard Road Alliance Church in Wheaton and was a regular volunteer at the Outreach Community Center in Carol Stream. Bob's ministry was to use his gifts of service and repair to those in need. He is survived by his wife, Scottie May; his father, Charles (Madeline) May of Florida; his siblings, Charles (Jean) May of Pennsylvania, Madeline Bohannon of Florida and Fred (Barbara) May of Arlington Heights; his step-children, Cristy (Dean) Bruns of California, Phil (Lisa) Vischer of Wheaton and Rob (Maureen) Vischer of New York; and by eight grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother in 1972. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Okoboji Lakes Bible and Missionary Conference, P.O. Box 709, Arnolds Park, IA 51331. We were so saddened to learn about Bob's untimely passing, but take comfort in the knowledge that he is now with the Lord. We will pray for you to know God's peace, love and strength in the coming weeks and months. We thank God for the great privilege of knowing both you and Bob. He was a shining example of Christlikeness. He will be terribly missed.

I wish to express my sympathy to the May family. I did not know Robert but years ago his father Chuck was of great help when my father had a small dairy in West Chicago and Chuck did most of the electrical work and repairs for him and Mr. Karp at Markl Dairy.

What a comfort we have in our faith during these times.
