ROBERT PULFORD Obituary

Robert S. Pulford Robert S. Pulford, 63, of rural Capron, Ill., went to his heavenly home Tuesday, Aug. 31, 2010, at his home in Capron. He was born in Chicago, Feb. 11, 1947, to parents, Robert A. Pulford and Helen Hoagland. Robert was a lifelong engineer of Metra formally known as Milwaukee Road. Robert was united in marriage to Victoria L.Pulford on April 6, 1973 in Wheaton, Ill. Robert enjoyed spending time in his community, Sharon, Wis., where he and Vicke owned an Antique store, called A Wing and a Prayer. He spent countless hours involved in Sharon Main Street Celebrations to include Victorian Christmas, his favorite. One of his favorite past times was antiquing and attending auctions. He was a fond advocate of helping others, and standing up for what he believed in. Robert's humor stemmed from his desire to make other people laugh, which included acting for Second City in Chicago. His greatest pride and joy were his family, to whom he was a beloved father, grandfather, brother and husband. The love and values that he instilled in them will carry on for generations. He will be remembered dearly by his daughters, Heather (Roger) Gunter of Dixon, Mo., and Amy (David) Moncue of Roscoe, Ill.; mother, Helen Hoagland of Sycamore, Ill.; brother, Ray (Cheryl) Pulford of Elburn Ill.; grandchildren, Christian Gunter, Angela Jackson, Casey and Riley Moncue, Austin Pulford, Marissa and Brandon Ferrara; sisters-in-law, Liz (Bob) Mrowinski and Marge Gertch; nephews, Michael Pulford, Ray (Lindsey) Pulford; and nieces, Tina (Dan) Parrilli and Kelly Mrowinski. He also had several caring cousins and special friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert A. Pulford; wife, Victoria Pulford; son, Fredrick Pulford; and daughter, Kathleen Ferrara. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank-you to Debbie Fahrnow for her loving care and commitment to go above and beyond to help our family through this difficult year. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 7, in Sharon United Methodist Church, 225 Baldwin St., Sharon, Wis., with the Rev. Ken Markley, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Blaine Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 6, in Buck-Wheeler-Hyland Funeral Home, 218 W. Hurlbut Ave., Belvidere, Ill.
