Robert Reuss Obituary

Robert Cameron Reuss

Robert Cameron Reuss, 68, passed away in Naperville, IL on January 27, 2025. A brilliant graduate of and a fierce athlete from Lake Forest Academy, Princeton University, and DePaul. His corporate career began at Harris Bank in the Chicago Loop, then continued with Cable TV operations at Centel in Michigan. He then worked as a consultant, specializing in mergers and acquisitions of telecommunications companies. With his brilliant financial mind, Rob could handle balance sheets and income statements like a master sushi chef with fish.

Aside from business acumen, admirable things about our Dad, Rob, include his endless curiosity and intellect. You could ask him a question on any topic, from fiber optic systems to politics to AI. He also loved studying people, sharing verses, and his mind. His bottomless love for his children and closest friends and family is unforgettable. You could take one look at him and know you were in a gifted presence through his charisma and ability to make a single person feel important. He was a beam of light, so resilient throughout his years that it could never be dimmed entirely.

Rob was born on December 14, 1956, in Bronxville, NY, the son of Robert Pershing Reuss and Mildred Louise Daly (Reuss). He is survived by his children, Anne Reuss (35) and Cameron Reuss (33); and his sister, Lynn Bohmer, her husband, Dave, and their children, Jeff, Brad, and Mindy.

A celebration of Rob's life will be planned for a later date.

Too many memories to write about over our relationship the last 55 years covering both friendship and work. Always enjoyed our time together though most of it was over the phone for the last few years. A lot of memories that will forever be etched in my memory. Will miss him.

So very sorry to hear that .
I was a good friend of Robs . We met 8 yrs ago in Naperville.
I always took Rob for groceries while he was sick and he also knew my mother . We thought very highly of him and had a lot of laughs over the yrs .
He was such an intelligent and kind soul and a great Christian .
He will be sorely missed .

Sincerely,
Tim

To the family of Robert Reuss.
I didn´t know Rob. I, too, am a Robert, though I answer to `Bob´. I was struck in reading Rob´s obituary in the Daily Herald. It caused me to reflect on my life and mortality. From reading about him, I think we may have been friends had we met. And, he and I were born on exactly the same day (12/14/56). Tomorrow is promised to no one. Live life...
Godspeed to you all...

I didn´t know Rob or your family, but, I noticed his obituary in the Daily Herald and I was struck by the fact that he and I were born on the exact same day in 1956. It caused me to consider my own mortality and to observe that tomorrow is promised to no one.
My sincerest condolences to his family...Godspeed...
