Ronald "Ron" Temple

Ronald "Ron" Temple, 87, of Huntley, Illinois, died at home on Tuesday, October 14th, 2025, after a brief illness with bladder disease.

Born on March 12, 1938, in Pekin, Illinois, to Troy and Frances Temple, he was married to Diana Temple for 64 years. Ron graduated from Pekin Community High School in 1956, then earned an Engineering degree from the University of Illinois. He worked for Caterpillar in Peoria, IL for 36 years, retiring in 2000 as a key executive in Purchasing and Logistics.

He lived in Pekin, IL for 63 years and was active at Calvary Baptist Church. While in Huntley, Ron attended Journey of Hope in Elgin, IL. He practiced his faith with conviction, following 1 John 2:6 he "walked the talk," reading his Bible daily and supporting his church and community with generosity.

After retiring in Huntley, IL, Ron and his wife, Diana spent winters in Sun City, AZ, then Fort Myers, FL, and Orlando, FL, before returning to Huntley to be near  family. Ron was a passionate golfer and sports fan, especially of the STL Cardinals and Illinois Fighting Illini.

He is survived by his son, Troy Temple and wife, Tracy; grandchildren, Jill Kellenberger (with husband, Joe), Sara Patton (with husband, CJ), Jacob Temple; and great-granddaughter, Charlotte.

Ron passed away after his wife, Diana Temple; his father, Troy Temple; his mother, Frances Temple Wood; and his daughters, Jill Temple and Paula Temple.
