Theodore B. Jahnke

Theodore B. Jahnke of Mount Prospect for 51 years Visitation for Theodore B. Jahnke, 80, will be from 9 a.m. until the time of the services at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 19, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 2035 N. Windsor Drive, Arlington Heights, Interment will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery, Arlington Heights. Born May 15, 1928, in Danville, Ill., he died Sunday, Nov. 16, 2008, at Manor Care Health Services Arlington Heights. Mr. Jahnke grew up in Danville, graduating high school in 1947. He attended Northwestern University and earned his teaching degree from the University of Illinois in 1957, after serving four years in the Air Force. He taught music in Mount Prospect School District #57 for 27 years, retiring in 1984. He is survived by his wife, Brita Jahnke (nee Keefer); daughters, Sherre (Rick) Gardzelewski and Terril (Jim) Kelly; grandchildren, Erin, Ryan, Sean and Kyle Kelly, Vanessa (Wally) Pollack, Rochelle Helgeland and Cassandra (Kyle) Romney; and great-grandchildren, Calista, Breanna, Walter and Adella Pollack, Kalea Romney and Kylie Kelly. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Adeline Jahnke; brothers, Clyde and John; and sister, Waneta. In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942 or your favorite charity, would be appreciated. Arrangements were made by John G.
